* To be suitable for Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University education-training programs, * To be in line with the requests of university faculty members, administrative staff and students, * Publishers are reliable, * Originality, * The latest edition (publications other than Social Sciences should be from the last 5 years), * Number of sources (multiple copies can be made of the most used sources), * Resources outside of education and training programs should be of literary and cultural quality that will ensure the cultural development of users, * Ensuring continuity of publication in periodical sources.
DONATION POLICY;
* The publications to be donated must be suitable for education and training activities. * Donors are informed that a special corner cannot be allocated for the donation in accordance with modern library principles. * It is not possible for every donation received by mail to be included in the collection. *The resources to be donated are first included in the collection by the library staff by comparing them with the existing ones in the collection. * Broken, worn, photocopied and non-continuous resources cannot be accepted. *Volume integrity must be ensured with multi-volume works to be donated. * Publications other than Social Sciences should have a publication date within the last five years (except rare works). *Theses are accepted as donations. *A letter of thanks is sent to the donor and the institution by the library.
LENDING POLICY;
Book Borrowing Conditions
a) Faculty members can borrow a maximum of 7 (seven) books at a time; master's/doctoral students can borrow 5 (five) books; staff and students can borrow 3 (three) books. b) Books can be lent for 1 (one) month. c) Readers cannot borrow new books and other materials unless they return the borrowed material at the end of the lending period. If the material is returned and the overdue penalty is paid, they can be lent books again, except for paragraph g of Article 19 of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Library Regulations. d) The period of the borrowed material can be extended twice for additional periods equal to the lending period if there is no other requestor. e) When necessary, the Department may request the materials back from the readers before the lending period expires. f) Books held by other readers can be reserved. If the reserved books are not purchased within 3 (three) days after the announcement, the reserve will be canceled. g) Books cannot be borrowed with someone else's ID card. h) When necessary, the Head of the Department may redetermine the lending periods and the number of materials that can be lent in general.
Books and Materials Not to be Lent
a) Reference works (dictionary, encyclopedia, index, etc.) b) Unpublished graduate theses, c) Manuscripts and rare printed works, d) Atlas, maps and slides, e) Reserved books, f) Materials that are determined by the Head of the Department upon the recommendations of the affiliated library units and that cannot be taken out of the library, g) Music notes h) Collectibles, artistic materials. Readers may use such materials only in the library and, when necessary, under the supervision of a staff member.
MATERIALS NOT INCLUDED IN THE COLLECTION; *Those that are contrary to the laws of the Turkish Republic, *Duplicate sources (photocopies, etc.) and/or copyright issues * Periodicals that are discontinued and ceased to be published, *Those that are not suitable for university education programs in terms of subject and language, *Sources available in the collection (excluding frequently used sources). COLLECTION WEEDING POLICY;
Resources provided to the library may lose their value for the library in the process. In this case, they can be removed from the library collection by weeding (reverse selection). Such resources;
Outdated, torn, soiled, scratched, missing pages, Very old editions, Sources with many copies but not used, Sources that disrupt the integrity of the binding can be weeded out (Sources in such sources are taken to “Storage”). The resources taken into storage can be donated to libraries in need.
